I lay in bed staring at the ceiling. My pillow was soggy from my tears. My nose was stuffy and sore from wiping it clean. My throat hurt from all the sobbing. My face was hot. My hair was everywhere. I was a wreck.
The silent cries of my heart screamed for him. My lips longe for his kiss. My body yearned for his touch. I long to hear is voice. I was missing so much. I had finally found the love of my life and lost him all within twenty minutes.. I thought back on the pleasure I used to get just from hearing his voice or getting that "WAKE UP BIGHEAD" text. I daydream about his strong hands rubbing my body all over leaving no body part untouched....umph I realize sooner how bad I wanted that man.
I hadn’t left my hotel room since I checked in. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I laid there day and night mourning. Who was I supposed to call now to cheer me up? Who was going pull me out of this rut?
My cell phone constantly rang, phone calls followed by text messages. Text messages following phone calls. Voicemails after voicemails. I didn’t want to talk. I just wanted to cry.
Somebody knocked on the door. I didn’t move. The knocking continued. I was a little annoyed by the hotel staff since they hadn’t bothered me in the three days that the DO NOT DISTRURB sign had been on the door. Why were they ignoring it now? The knocking got harder.
“Go away,” I yelled.
“Open the door chica.” It was Rocky.
I was curious as to how she found me. I really didn’t want to be bothered, but I dragged myself to the door.
“Oh my goodness girl you look a mess.”
“Hey to you too.”
“I would ask you how you holding up, but it’s obvious that you not.”
“What do you want Rocky?” I said still holding the door open hoping she would leave me with my memories.
“I came to check on you since you disconnected yourself from the world”
“How did you even find me?”
“Girl this is Miami.”
“Oh.” I said finally closing the door.
I plopped down on the bed. I really didn’t want to be bothered, but apparently Rocky wasn’t going away. I cleaned the tissues off the bed and offered her a seat. She reluctantly sat down and looked at me.
“Josie, you gotta pull yourself together. Trap wouldn’t want to see you like this. You know just as well as I do he would hate to see you this down. I know you hurting. I can’t even began to understand what you feel, but I do know how ya’ll was. I know you miss him, but you gotta live on baby girl. He wouldn’t want you holding yourself back for him. Putting your life on hold ain’t gone bring him back.”
“I know but it hurt so bad. He was all I had out here. What do I now?” I said breaking down.
“You are not alone honey. You got me.
